For more than 300 years, Castillo de San Marcos has guarded St. Augustine. It is the oldest masonry fort in the USA.
Fort Matanzas
National Monument constructed in 1740-1742 by Spain to keep the British at bay. The entrance is on A1A South about 30 minutes away from St. Augustine. Inside the entrance, a ferry boat takes you on the short ride to the fort.
Fountain of Youth

Oldest House, Gonzalez-Alvarez House

Spanish Quarter Village Museum
Reconstructed village of 18th century St. Augustine with nine buildings on 1 1/2 acres. (Entrance at 29 St. George Street) Government House Museum, in the village, features St. Augustine history, and Spanish Military Hospital, in the village, is a reconstruction of a military hospital that was in St. Augustine 1784-1821.
St. Augustine Lighthouse and Museum

Built in 1798, the house has been remodeled several times and has served as a home, a boarding house and an inn. Free admission.
